Small nerdy bookworm Riley was a genuinely adorable image, and Liam found himself charmed by the thought of it. Also five brothers earned a quiet whistle. "Five. That's a full house. Trick was more than enough for me, thanks." As if he didn't adore his pest of a little brother, even now when Patrick had (justifiably) come to despise him.
Liam's gaze was fixed on their joined hands as well.
Without consciously intending to, he tightened his fingers around Riley's. He wasn't used to someone worrying about him -- which was in part his own fault. He'd pushed the entire world away from himself, didn't let anyone close enough that they could get hurt because of him.
But here was Riley. Worrying about him. Coming here because of that worry, concerned that he'd been hurt. His free hand drifted up unconsciously to brush fingers gingerly over the bitemark that had been left. It wasn't the only one, only the most immediately visible. Gregory did not play gently with his toys. But pain was something that Liam knew how to deal with. Some twisted part in him figured he deserved it, a penance for his sins that could never be fully paid.
He hesitated before nodding. "My keeper, yes. Gregory. Or well, that's the name he uses anyway." He had trouble believing the demon's true name was fucking Gregory. Greg the demon. Why not.
